It's 2012 and about time I got myself on Etsy. I've been doing art fairs in Michigan for ten years. I like meeting people face to face and I don't like using computers... but I am finally giving it a go.
I work at home in my kitchen, at my dining room table and in the basement. I look forward to having the freedom of making all the things that I like making, rather than submitting (in the second sense, especially!) to a juried art fair. I like to sew, draw, do ceramics, and make cards, among other things. But art fairs often only let you display one line, also they don't like you coloring outside the box. Etsy changes all that!
(If you wonder why "lazygal" -- it's a term for a quilting technique. It's also maybe kinda tongue-in-cheek considering the amount of work going down around here!)
I have spent the last ten years making scarves, pillows and blankets out of felted sweaters. I also like to make cards out of books. I used to make more quilts -- I'll start doing that more now. Lately I have been reviving dishes with my new drawings and refiring them. I would like to make some jewelry and do some upholstery... Just watch!
I love going to thrift stores -- this should be obvious because it's my job! I also love to send letters and poems to people, ride my bike, cook, and go to garage sales, read books (especially children's books), and do things with our kids. ...And I like it when my husband teaches me the computer related things so that I can run this shop on my own! ...Enjoy! : )
